I’m sure you will all agree that our clubhouse with its new fresh coat of paint looks again fantastic along with the container and surrounding area. A big thank you to all involved in the maintenance each year your club really appreciates your effort.

We the committee made the decision this year that there would be no rise in subscription fees for 2025/2026, and we are hoping these prices will remain for a good few years and it’s at this point I remind all members that unlike other clubs we do not charge for Lighting, Match Balls, Club Night Balls, Tea, Coffee, And we are still probably one of the only clubs not to charge a match fee, All the above and our members make us the best club in Leicestershire.

Justin Horobin, chairman, and the committee have worked diligently over many months and we are nearly at a stage that we start works on the planned erection of a toilet facility and the replacement of the remaining court lighting system, the club now has a fantastic foundation on which to keep building.

(NEWS FLASH) The Water and toilet project !!! We now have all the information in place for all the options available to us, We have been waiting for all the Legalities from both Councils MMB & LCC and I am pleased to say I have just received the Heads of Terms and we have approved them so in April we should have all the legal documents in place for the works to start in (MAY/JUNE) That’s right we have finally reached that point and works will start in MAY/JUNE 2025 Yippee.

I would like to offer a vote of thanks to all the committee members who have contributed to ensure the club is managed efficiently and now has a long term future and I would also like to thank everyone that has helped us along the way either financially or your man power and time, we as a club appreciate all of it. Could I also take this opportunity to thank all our playing members, juniors and seniors alike, for treating our courts and clubhouse with the upmost respect, courts continually being dragged when necessary and clubhouse generally kept in good order, I feel this will ensure the longevity of our facility. I would also like to extend this by thanking every single member for looking after the courts and the clubhouse.

Now that the foundations are in place, the committee has recently been discussing new projects to enhance the club and how we could fund-raise to finance these: more details to follow in the next couple few weeks.

The Wimbledon draw will again be run automatically through the LTA system for those who have opted-in and you will receive an email if you are successful.(So make sure you have opted in ) on the LTA website.

We are always working with the local publications to get this great message across in Melton Mowbray and surrounding areas of how important tennis can be to all ages and abilities for fitness and health so a big thank you to Di, Ryan, Brent and their ever willing band of senior and junior helpers.
It also speaks volumes of our club inclusiveness that the coaches have just completed several courses now for the nearby Birchwood Disability School which regularly sees eighty plus youngsters being given the chance to try tennis.
Our next big date for your diaries is Saturday 29th March Our clubs open day, 10am-12 juniors and then 1pm-3pm Adults, Again helpers needed again so get in touch if you can help out.

As in previous years, we are offering a number of different ways in which to pay your annual subscription Club spark or by cash or cheque which, we hope, may assist some members in budgeting. We encourage you to use the Club spark link if possible as this saves lots of time. We hope that you will be able to continue your membership and support the club again this year; we remain one the biggest and best 4 court clubs in the county.
